Cannabinoids are a class of compounds found within the cannabis plant that are known to activate the cannabinoid receptors inside the human body. There are dozens of cannabinoids found within cannabis itself, and they all work together in synthesis to produce a diverse set of effects.
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the primary psychoactive compound derived from the cannabis plant. This compound works in tandem with other cannabinoids to produce a range of effects. THC can be used to treat nausea, PTSD, palliative cancer conditions, muscle spasms, and severe chronic pain.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a highly therapeutic compound derived from within the cannabis plant. It has natural anti-inflammatory properties that are known to alleviate a whole host of health issues – including anxiety, chronic pain, sleeping disorders, multiple sclerosis and seizures. Compared to THC, CBD is mostly non-psychoactive.
